Lower Than Atlantis

LOWER THAN ATLANTIS kick off an eight gig tour in Norwich at the beginning of March.  The band will be promoting their new album, ‘Safe In Sound’ which was released on 3rd February 2017 via Easy Life Records / Red Essential.

‘Had Enough’was named as Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’ on Radio 1 show.

Speaking about Had Enough, Frontman Mike Duce says:

Had Enough was the first song written for Safe in Sound and felt like it perfectly picked up from where we left off with the self titled but also took things some place new. We feel that it’s one of the best Lower Than Atlantis songs ever so we couldn’t wait to share it with the world! The album feels like a much truer representation of our band than the last record and the success of that album meant we had to challenge ourselves to write bigger and better songs this time around.  The song is about exactly what the title suggests!  Everyone has one of ‘those’ days and this song is the soundtrack.”

In addition to ‘Had Enough’, you can view previous track ‘Dumb’, which as shot on a 360 camera & ‘Work For It’ now. All are taken from the forthcoming album & follows on from the bands most successful album to date ‘Lower Than Atlantis‘ released in 2014 which saw them achieve multiple BBC Radio 1 playlists, sell out tours globally and position the band at the forefront of UK rock music.

Speaking about making the new album ‘Safe in Sound’ and following up on the career-high of their 2014 self-titled album, Mike Duce reveals:

“Everything we achieved with the self titled completely surpassed our expectations and now it’s time to make an album that can really take us to the next level…. We’ve spent a lot more time refining our sound as well as trying some new techniques, Ben has engineered a lot of the record and Eddy has designed the aesthetic so this project is definitely very close to our hearts. We just wanted ‘Safe In Sound’ to be a true representation of where this band is nearly ten years on! This album tackles concepts such as depression, rejection, being in love and monetary worries to name a few so there’s definitely something in there that most people can relate to. We’re certain that this album is the best work from this band and can’t wait for everyone to hear it! The album title is born from the idea of being “safe and sound” but being safe within music.”

The band recently played in Europe with You Me At Six and will start their headline UK tour in March 2017. This will be their biggest tour to date and sees them play London’s iconic Brixton Academy whilst bringing out support from Young GunsHands Like Houses and Roam for the ride.

Speaking about the upcoming live dates Duce says: “ We’re headlining the biggest shows we’ve ever played so we’ve written what we think is a record big enough to be played in those venues.”
