A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Ballet Theatre UK return to Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds with a spectacular journey into the enchanting and magical realm of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

William Shakespeare’s famous comedy portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta the former queen of the Amazons. These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of amateur actors who are all controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest where most of the play is set.

Following their critically acclaimed productions of Romeo and Juliet and The Nutcracker, Ballet Theatre UK present a new ballet set to charm the whole family. Be transported to a fantastical world of dazzling dance, music and enchantment when lovers, fairies, mischief and moonlight collide in Shakespeare’s classic tale.

Through the vision of Artistic Director Christopher Moore, this innovative production gives the old story new wings. With stunning original choreography set to the iconic Mendelssohn score and breath-taking costumes, the magical woodland of old will come to mischievous life on stage. A wonderful treat for young and old, lovers of dance, music and sheer theatrical magic.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be at the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds from 1st – 2nd March. Tickets are on sale at the Box Office; call 01284 769505, book online at www.theatreroyal.org or visit the theatre in person.
