There’ll be no snoozing at this year’s King’s Lynn pantomime – Sleeping Beauty – check out the amazing cast line-up we have in store, including Victoria Bush, Ian Marr, Scott Cripps, Charles Dennett and Olivia Arnold.
Victoria Bush, born and bred in King’s Lynn, will play the Evil Carabosse. Victoria is known to millions as school secretary Sonya Donnegan in BBC 1’s Waterloo Road and also Tina O’Kane in series 3-8 of ITV’s Bad Girls. Other credits include: Mary/ Miss Dilber in Scrooge the Musical (National Tour), Sylvia in Stepping Out (Theatre Royal, Lincoln) and she has also appeared on TV shows Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, The All-Star Talent Show and Children in Need.
This will be Victoria’s first outing as a panto baddie, having played fabulous fairies in the past. This year, as the evil Carabosse, she will move over to the dark side, playing the sort of fairy that no-one wants to mess with. With no invitation to Princess Belle’s christening, she will take her revenge in style – and it will be down to the dashing Prince Valiant and the comedy capers of Dame Nellie Night Nurse and Chester the Jester to save the day!
Making a welcome return to the Corn Exchange are King’s Lynn’s favourite Dame, Ian Marr, this year as Dame Nellie Night Nurse and Scott Cripps as Chester the Jester. This is Ian’s 17th Christmas in panto – 8 in King’s Lynn and 8 other venues up and down the country. Ian’s other credits include: Pitlochry 2017 season in High Society, The Ruling Class, Mary Rose and People; Mr Kirkby in That Day We Sang (Victoria Wood); Downton Abbey (ITV); Waking the Dead (BBC); Alan Gregg/The Doctor in Shadowlands (National Tour) to name but a few!
As well as many King’s Lynn pantos, Scott’s West End theatre credits include Billy Elliott; Murdoch in Titanic; Sweeney Todd; Pirates of Penzance; Peter Pan and Doctor Dolittle. He has also toured with productions of Jesus Christ Superstar; Amos in Whistle Down the Wind, High Society; Willard in Footloose, Pharaoh in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. You can also see him on the big screen as an in-mate in Paddington 2 dancing alongside Hugh Grant!
Also making a welcome return to the Corn Exchange is KLFM’s Charles Dennett AKA Posh Charles. Sleeping Beauty marks his 3rd panto appearance in a row! Last year he played the Lord Chamberlain in Jack and the Beanstalk and in 2016 he was the Broker’s Man in Cinderella. Clearly a glutton for punishment, Charles is back for more panto mayhem this year in Sleeping Beauty.
Olivia Arnold, a recent Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts graduate, joins the cast as Princess Belle, our Sleeping Beauty. Olivia made her panto debut last year as Wendy in Peter Pan. Credits in training include Cinderella’s Mother in Into the Woods; Gymnasia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum; Anne in Half a Sixpence and Lady Macbeth in Macbeth.
Hot on the heels of last year’s smash hit show, Jack and the Beanstalk, tickets are already selling fast for this DREAM of a panto in King’s Lynn! Once again, we promise a spectacular show full of music, fun, laughter, stunning special effects and plenty of surprises along the way!
Sleeping Beauty is at the Alive Corn Exchange, King’s Lynn from Friday 7 December until Monday 31 December 2018.
