The Libertines Headline New Suffolk Festival

Mansion on the Moon is a new one-day music festival coming to Trinity Park, Ipswich on September 8, headlined by iconic indie band The Libertines.

The festival will also feature some of the best up and coming talent in the live music scene, including Tom Grennan, Twisted Wheel and Ashfields, as well as local stars Bessie Turner, RATS, SuperGLu and Caswell.

Tom Grennan released his debut album last month to critical acclaim, so there will be an ideal opportunity for fans to see his new material live.

Bessie Turner and Caswell, both from Suffolk, are on the rise and we’ll all be hearing much more from them in the coming months.

RATS, which formed in January this year in Liverpool, released their debut single in July, shortly after moving to Suffolk, where they worked with legendary producer Cenzo Townshend at Decoy studios.

The organisers are expecting thousands of people expected to come and enjoy a full day of live music. The festival is family friendly with an array of local food providers and facilities to keep the kids amused.

Harry Griffiths, Director at Aikona Records which organised the festival, said:

“We’re really excited to be bringing this truly epic music event to the town and such a fantastic venue for outdoor events. We hope this is the first event of many major concerts that bring in high-profile music acts at an affordable price and I genuinely believe that Ipswich can become one of the leading cultural destinations not only in East Anglia, but the UK.

“We plan to invest in the festival long term, working with our partners to achieve a truly exceptional event, long into the foreseeable future. Our vision is to deliver a sustainable experience that benefits the local economy and places Ipswich firmly on the cultural landscape.”

Gates open at midday with live music from 1pm, a variety of quality street food and beers will be available on-site at the events food village and bars.
