Twelve Clay Feet

Cambridge rock band Twelve Clay Feet are gearing up to release their debut album this February and have put together an album launch night that will feature some top draw entertainment – all in the name of one local charity.  In association with official sponsor 'Ken Stevens Music and Instruments' / Millers Music, the band’s elected charity is Cambridge’s ‘Squeaky Gate’ (a music based charity) who endeavor to help the less advantaged through their work with music and performance.

Taking place on the 18th of February at Anglia Ruskin University’s Academy venue, a proportion of profits from the evening will go straight to Squeaky Gate in addition to Ken Stevens’ generous donation of £250 worth of musical equipment, which will also be provided to the charity.

12 Clay Feet1Twelve Clay Feet are Cambridge stalwarts, having gigged all over the city for several years. Influenced as much by the likes of Syd Barrett as they are in thrall to the Britpop sounds of The Verve, Blur and The Seahorses, it follows that Twelve Clay Feet are excited to be joined by Seahorses’ lead singer and chief songwriter Chris Helme, who will also be playing live on the night.  Also featuring is local singer songwriter Tom Copson and none other than Gary Powell from The Libertines will be DJ-ing until the early hours.

Squeaky Gate is a charity that the band firmly believes in supporting. Talking of their decision to hold the event in their name, Ian Jeffs, (lead singer) says:

"We were introduced to Squeaky Gate by a friend and fellow musician, who has given his time to work for the charity. We're really pleased to be able to help support the work they do, particularly because of the positive effect music has had on our own lives."

We've been part of the Cambridge music scene for a long time and have received fantastic support from friends and music lovers. Putting on an exciting event in our hometown and throwing a party for our loyal fanbase is the perfect way for us to celebrate the release of our first record. We are really proud of our album ‘Totem Bells’ and hope that even more people in Cambridge get to hear our music as a result of the launch."

Simon Gunton, Squeaky Gate CEO says “We are delighted that Twelve Clay Feet have chosen to support our charity. Squeaky Gate is running music workshops for over two hundred people who, for a variety of reasons including mental health and homelessness, don’t engage in mainstream music activities. This generous support will provide us with much needed instruments for our new community recording studios in Norfolk Street.”

All attendees of the album launch will receive a free QR code that allows them to access extra content from the record as well as lyrics and videos.

Tickets will be available via www.wegottickets.com and also available to purchase at Ken Stevens store in Cambridge.
