What it's about

Local people and visitors are being invited to an “open weekend” at Ipswich’s Town Hall and Corn Exchange complex.

The 'Access All Areas' event will take place on 17th, 18th and 19th February.
Ipswich Borough Council aims to showcase the space available following the opening of the Little Waitrose store, to encourage community participation in arts and events and provide an opportunity for partners to show their work. The Council also wants to ask stakeholders and the wider community to have their say about the future use of the combined building.

A number of free activities will be taking place throughout the weekend, including tours, creative workshops, exhibitions, funding surgeries and small music events.

A special event for creative partners will also be taking place on Friday evening from 6pm.
Ipswich Borough Council’s Culture portfolio-holder, Councillor Bryony Rudkin, said: “This gives us an opportunity to invite the community in to the Town Hall and the Corn Exchange. We are looking at both buildings as one with a view to maximizing opportunities for the arts organisations, community groups and others. I do hope many of you will come along.”

Local organisations interested in taking part should contact the Council’s Cultural Development Manager, Greg Cooper, on 01473 433510 or email greg.cooper@ipswich.gov.uk <mailto:greg.cooper@ipswich.gov.uk>
