Running for the 34th year, Ipswich Music Day is the UK’s biggest free one-day music festival, with six stages celebrating all types of music in Christchurch Park alongside fairground rides, activities, a market and food vendors.
Organised by Ipswich Borough Council with event sponsors, this family-friendly event offers performers the opportunity to showcase their talent on stage.
Aspiring musicians not just from Ipswich, but also the wider Suffolk area and Anglia region are able to apply from 9am on Tuesday 9 January 2024. Applications close at midnight on Sunday 31 March.
An Advisory Group will review all applications and contact successful applicants on Friday 12 April 2024. Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications, only successful applicants will be contacted.
Councillor Neil MacDonald, Ipswich Borough Council Leader, says:
“Ipswich Music Day is one of my favourite days of the whole year. It’s a fantastic opportunity for up-and-coming artists to showcase their talent and for Ipswich to come alive with the sound of music, fun, and entertainment.
Last year we received applications from 233 performers, with 52 being successful and performing to 24,500 people in Christchurch Park. In 2024, we hope to attract even more performers of different musical genres to the UK’s biggest free one-day festival – let’s make it the best one yet!”
