OEP Live! by arrangement with One Fifteen presents – JOOLS HOLLAND & HIS RHYTHM &
BLUES ORCHESTRA featuring GILSON LAVIS and Special Guest MARC ALMOND and Guest
Vocalists RUBY TURNER & LOUISE MARSHALL as 1 of 3 NOWTON NIGHTS New and
Exclusive to the Bury St Edmunds 2018 Annual Festival at NOWTON PARK, BURY ST
EDMUNDS on FRIDAY, 25TH MAY 2018.

In 1987, The Jools Holland Big Band was formed – comprising himself and Gilson Lavis. This
has gradually metamorphosed into the current 19-piece Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues
Orchestra, which consists of pianist, organist, drummer, three female vocals, guitar, bass guitar,
two tenor saxophones, two alto saxophones, baritone saxophone, three trumpets, and three
trombones. Prior to this , Up The Junction and Cool For Cats gave Squeeze featuring Jools Holland
of course ,meteoric success and their popularity rapidly extended to America, where their tour
included performances at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

As well as formidable live performances, Jools has maintained a prolific recording career since
signing to Warner Music in 1996, which includes the multimillion selling Jools Holland and
Friends series. Notable ‘friends’ have included Sting, Chrissie Hynde, George Harrison, Norah
Jones, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Bono, Joe Strummer, KT Tunstall, Robert Plant, Smokey
Robinson, Sugababes, Ringo Starr, Peter Gabriel, Solomon Burke, and many more.

Collaborative works such as Golden Age Of Song, Sirens Of Song and Jools & Ruby followed in
these successful footsteps whilst 2016 saw Jools Holland pay tribute to his lifelong friend, the
piano, with the release of his instrumental album Piano. The record features eight of Jools’
compositions and ten carefully selected pieces interpreting the work of the piano artists and
composers that he loves.

Deadlines

To have YOUR event included in Grapevine Magazine all you have to do is add it online.

It will need to be online in time for our print deadline to be included in Grapevine Magazine – click here to see our deadline dates.

If you miss the deadline for inclusion in the printed magazine your events will still appear online.

We manually approve all submissions, it may take up to 24hrs to publish your event – longer at weekends.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the information in our listings from time to time events change or get cancelled. We strongly suggest that you check with the venue especially if you intend to travel any distance. Ticket prices shown are, generally speaking, the most you should expect to pay. In many cases discounts and concessions are available and often tickets bought in advance are less than 'on the door' prices.
