Leisure Tank + The Baskervilles & Saltfen

April 21 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

* Back by popular demand after a very successful show here at the John Peel Centre last year! *

Leisure Tank are a London-based, female-led indie-rock PowerDuo from Berlin, with K.C. McKanzie on electric guitar/vocals and Budi on drums.

Their song ‘Isabella’, a swirling rock tune full of jealousy and obsession was chosen by ‘FreshOnTheNet’ as a favourite and described as “gripping indie rock at its best” as well as being compared to PJ Harvey’s “Rid of Me”.

“The duo lay down aprogressively energetic set. They bounce between loudly powerful and quietly intimate almost effortlessly, bringing to mind the ever influential Leslie Feist in the process” – hiddentracks.com

The duo has been praised for their danceable rhythms combined with K.C.’s strong vocals and the duo’s love for unpredictable song structures and endings. Leisure Tank’s minimalistic approach is refreshing in times of an overflow of stage gadgets, laptops and effects.

“Leisure Tank have given us a reminder of what music is all about” – 10/10 album review – INFRARED MAGAZINE

“They bounce between loudly powerful and quietly intimate almost effortlessly” – HIDDENHERD.COM

“Gripping indie rock at its best” – FRESH ON THE NET

Support from The Baskervilles + TBC

The Baskervilles are a four piece Blues-Rock band hailing from Ipswich, Suffolk.

Strongly influenced by both traditional blues, & the more eccentric offerings of modern guitar based music, an exercise in indulgence The Baskervilles pay homage to styles as wide as Bakersfield twang, to West coast hip hop, with the unavoidable aftertaste of a distinctly English Band.

The Baskervilles well and truly give everything at their live shows, with the full intent of inflicting their audience with a pit of the stomach excitement, and melodies that have a nasty habit of rattling around the skull for days.

Saltfen are a four-piece alternative rock band from Ely. The band members are Tom Woolner, Alec Woolner, Tom Hall, John Kirby, and they have been together since 2012. They list their influences as including The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Vaccines, and Bloc Party.
