JOIN DANCEEAST’S CHALLENGE 1000 AND HELP PROVIDE GREAT DANCE FOR EVERYONE.
DanceEast is challenging 1,000 people to donate £5 each, to help the organisation continue delivering vital work for older movers, and make a huge difference to health and wellbeing through dance.
DanceEast’s Challenge 1000 is part of its wider Great Dance for Everyone campaign, aiming to provide rewarding dance and movement experiences for everyone. It is pioneering dance classes and projects to promote health and wellbeing, and therefore enhance lives. With the help of 1,000 generous people, DanceEast can continue this vital work, and provide more enjoyment, fulfilment and satisfaction for everyone, including older movers.
Currently DanceEast works with people with Parkinson’s and Dementia, as well as focusing on preventing falls and injury in older people through dance. DanceEast’s Dance for Parkinson’s programme, its recently relaunched Care to Dance? (previously Dance for Dementia) and its new StowMovers sessions for those over 55 in Stowmarket demonstrate just some ways in which it promotes health and wellness via dance. No dance experience is necessary to take part and sessions are open to all, providing both social and physical benefits through dance.
A Dance for Parkinson’s participant at DanceEast said:
‘I have found it beneficial in so many ways…it has helped with my speech; my walking has improved; my self-confidence has improved. Dance helps us forget all our troubles.’
Through its Challenge 1000, and Great Dance for Everyone, DanceEast will be able to build a community of older movers that are both healthier and happier.
