Uncle Funk & The Boogie Wonderband, the UK’s top live 70s disco act are coming to Papworth Everard to play a special show to support the charity Disabled Huntingdonshire.

The 8 piece band have been established for over 20 years and are regulars at the Glastonbury Festival and other huge events.

Playing what they describe as “The greatest hits of Disco Volume 1!”, the band features musicians from the pick of west-end performers and dress in outrageous costumes with massive flares and afro wigs.

Their show has taken them all over the world, and they are now touring the country playing large theatres, as well as performances at many large festivals this year.

Already booked to play Glastonbury 2019, they will also be headlining the opening night at award-winning boutique festival Standon Calling, as well as appearing as special guests at the Cambridge Club festival at Haggis Farm with headliners Sister Sledge and Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club.

Singer Uncle Funk said: “We are looking forward to playing Papworth and raising money for DISH. My brother Matthew Baker is a disabled resident of Papworth and came to see us last Christmas in Great Dunmow.”

He expressed that there are many disabled residents in Papworth that like the band, so we thought we’d come to them and raise some money for the local disabled charity in the process. For those who haven’t seen the band before, we guarantee the night of your lives! We play a set of huge hits from the 70s and 80s – you will know and love every song!”

Coupled with outrageous costumes, slick dance moves and amazing light show, I’m sure this will be the event of the year in Papworth Everard.

Uncle Funk & The Boogie Wonderband will appear at the Village Hall in Papworth Everard on May 24th
Doors open at 7pm and the band will be on stage at 7.30pm. Tickets for the show can be bought online at wegottickets.com or can be bought in person from the Norfolk Deli in Papworth Everard. There will be a licensed bar.    For more information, visit www.unclefunk.co.uk.
