Here Come the Girls at the Ipswich Regent last night was a fun, entertaining and bubbly evening of some stunning ballroom and Latin dance routines, peppered with the history of how each of our leading ladies came to be under the Strcitly spell – and now promoting their 2019 UK tour.
The queen of the show for me was definitely the racy Australian redhead, Dianne Buswell, her enigmatic smile and personality really lit up the stage and her male dance partner, Patrick Helm, who made a great job of the choreography and showing us why he was so well matched with the lovely Dianne.
Welsh Strictly pro Amy Dowden also put in great performances alongside her long term dance partner and fiancé, Ben; as well as Chloe Hewitt (the baby of the trio) who really shone in the very capable hands of her stage partner – did I mention his amazing six pack?!
Sadly, there was no live band – so the atmosphere wasn’t as electric as it could have been – but the show definitely benefited from the dulcet tones of The Voice singer Leanne Jarvis who really enjoyed herself and wowed the crowd with her rendition of the hugely popular ‘This is Me’ from The Greatest Showman.
All in all, a hand-clapping, crowd pleasing night of sheer entertainment! It was a real pity the auditorium was far from full, so I just hope that shows of this type will still come to our little part of the world – come on Ipswich, we need to support these events!
