Mark Ronson at Newmarket

Completing the lineup for 2016 Newmarket Nights season, The Jockey Club Live and Newmarket Racecourses are delighted to announce that international superstar Mark Ronson will be bringing his acclaimed live DJ set to the Adnams July Course on 5th August.

Ronson’s back catalogue is second to none, having released some of the most successful and recognized hits of the past decade including Oh My God’ featuring Lily Allen, ‘Stop Me’ feat Daniel Merriweather and ‘Valerie’ feat Amy Winehouse. It was in 2014 however that he released a track that would go on to be one of the most streamed and biggest selling singles of the 21st century; ‘Uptown Funk’ feat Bruno Mars. The track was catapulted to the number 1 spot both here and in the US and secured him a BRIT Award for British Single of the Year. In addition to his success as a lead artist, Ronson is also a celebrated producer having worked with acts ranging from Adele to Duran Duran, and won two Grammy Awards for his work on Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back to Black’ album.

‘We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Mark Ronson to Newmarket Racecourses for the first time. This really is the cherry on the top of what is set to be a fantastic summer on the Adnams July Course, adding further to the celebrations around the 350th anniversary in Newmarket this year.’

Last year’s award winning 2015 season, which saw Newmarket Nights win the Group Leisure award for ‘Best Event For Groups’ in 2014/15, welcomed acts including Kylie, Spandau Ballet, Tom Jones and Kaiser Chiefs to the Adnams July Course, collectively playing to over 100,000 fans. The season launched with a sell out crowd of 22,000 achieved in a record breaking 40 minutes for the showgirl herself, Kylie.
