A Successful Summer Of Events

Over 32,000 people flocked to Ipswich’s parks and public spaces this summer to enjoy some family fun.

Despite the uncertainty of COVID-19 preventing some of Ipswich’s larger events from taking place, residents and visitors were able to get out and enjoy multiple outdoor events across the town throughout the summer.

From Family Fun Days and outdoor theatre performances in local parks to movies on the Cornhill and live music, fairground rides, and fireworks at Ipswich Waterfront.

The Council’s attention has now turned to the events programme for 2022, which promises the return of some much-loved events.

Councillor Sarah Barber, Ipswich Borough Council’s portfolio holder for the town centre, said: “It was lovely to see people coming out to enjoy the events across Ipswich this summer. There was something for everyone in the programme and we hope that it gave residents a much-needed distraction and boost. We are busy planning next year’s programme and can’t wait to see some of our popular events make a comeback!”
