by | Jul 23, 2026 | Festival, Music

AfriFest East returns to Chapelfield Gardens, Norwich on Saturday 15th August 2026, 1pm-10.30pm, promising its biggest celebration yet with an unforgettable mix of live music, culture, food, fashion and family entertainment.

This year’s headline evening performances feature Timaya, one of Nigeria’s most influential hitmakers whose career spans two decades with anthems including Bum Bum, Cold Outside and Sanko. Joining him is Afro B, the international star behind the global smash Drogba (Joanna), alongside the captivating Portuguese Angolan singer Lurdes Miranda, whose vibrant blend of Lusophone and African sounds brings an exciting international flavour to the festival.

The daytime programme shines a spotlight on exceptional live musicians, including Kenyan percussion virtuoso Kasiva Mutua, whose electrifying performances have earned global acclaim. Ghana’s explosive K.O.G (Kweku of Ghana) brings his infectious fusion of Afrobeat, highlife and funk, while Norwich favourite Seye Paul opens the celebrations with an uplifting set that reflects the city’s rich cultural diversity.

Keeping the energy high throughout the day will be festival DJs DJ Holy and DJ Laz, while hosts Itty Bawa, Nellie and Captain Lulaz guide audiences through an unforgettable programme of performances and experiences. AfriFest East is proudly one of the UK’s most family-friendly cultural festivals. With interactive activities, cultural workshops, world-class food and entertainment for all ages, it is designed for the whole family to enjoy together.
