BalletBoyz Return To Cambridge


The world-renowned and incredible all-male ballet company BalletBoyz return to Cambridge Arts Theatre for the first time since 2019, as part of a UK-wide tour.

Deluxe features work by some of the world’s most exciting artists, including choreographer Xie Xin, composer Jiang Shaofeng, Punchdrunk’s Maxine Doyle and jazz musician and composer Cassie Kinoshi of the Mercury-nominated SEED Ensemble.

Winners of numerous awards across the world, BalletBoyz are considered one of the most cheekily original and innovative forces in dace. Thrilling audiences and critics with their unique style, BalletBoyz blend achingly beautiful dance, both exhilarating and graceful, with stunning music and film.

Cambridge Arts Theatre are thrilled to be offering their first ever Audio Described performance for dance. Deluxe’s Audio Described performance will take place on Tuesday 22 March, 7.30pm.

BalletBoyz was founded in 2001 by dancers Michael Nunn and Cambridge local Billy Trevitt. They founded the company after both training at the Royal Ballet, immediately making a significant impact on the dance industry. After retiring in 2010, Nunn and Trevitt selected eight male dancers to begin their first project theTALENT. Five years later, the BalletBoyz company has expanded to ten dancers, and in 2013 won the National Dance Award for Best Independent Company.

Michael Nunn and Billy Trevitt have also created dance documentaries for television including BalletBoyz I & II, Strictly Bolshoi, The Royal Ballet in Cuba, BalletBoyz: The Next Generation and BalletBoyz: The Rite of Spring, as well as forty short films for Channel 4’s Random Acts strand.
