Big Dance Names Due in Felixstowe in 2021

Following on from the news that The Spa Pavilion are re-opening, supported by the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund, the Felixstowe venue have just released details of two big name dance shows for 2021.

With a wide variety of shows and plenty of big name stars, The Spa is looking forward to making up for lost time next year, with its most exciting and biggest programme in many years.

Giovanni Pernice – ‘This Is Me’

Strictly Come Dancing‘ Showman, Giovanni Pernice, is set to make a spectacular return to the stage in 2021 with his incredible show ‘This Is Me’, after the tour was cut short in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show returns after the sell-out successes of his previous tours and countless five star reviews.

The Italian was devastated to have to put the 2020 tour on hold just a couple of weeks after opening night, announcing on Instagram:

Never wanted this moment to arrive, but here we go … I’m so sorry to say that we have had to reschedule the remaining shows of the THIS IS ME tour. We have to think of everyone’s health and wellbeing. Thank you to all of the amazing audiences we have had and apologies to those that haven’t seen the show yet. I hope we will be able to return soon…but in the meantime, be safe, be healthy, look after each other and be kind. I miss you already … G!

Pernice has become a firm fan favourite, having been a professional dancer on the hit BBC TV show since 2015 and has reached the final three times, with Georgia May Foote, Debbie McGee, and Faye Tozer respectively.

On the 2019 series Giovanni was partnered with Michelle Visage, who is a judge on the popular TV show ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, making it all the way to Blackpool!

Will 2020 be the year Giovanni wins the coveted glitter ball? He certainly hopes so! “I dream about that trophy every night, you know, it’s what it means to you!! I would love to sleep next to that trophy for the rest of my life!! But seriously, I just feel very lucky to have been on the show for so long and to have had such great partners.”

The professional dancer has said ‘This Is Me’ is his ‘biggest and best ever tour to date’. “I just want to try and do something different, something that you haven’t seen before. I want to challenge myself and show off my hidden talents!”

The showman is set to light up the stage once again, along with his cast of professional dancers, for his fifth year of touring. With the Italian’s natural charm, combined with beautiful choreography perfectly complemented by a fabulous soundtrack, ‘THIS IS ME’ pays homage to the music and dances that have inspired Giovanni’s career, from a competition dancer to one of the biggest names on the hit BBC show.

‘GIOVANNI PERNICE – THIS IS ME’ comes to Felixstowe Spa Pavilion on THU 25 MAR, 2021 – AT 7:30PM | Tickets are available online here

The Ballroom Boys – Act Two!

Strictly Come Dancing’s old-school professionals, Ian Waite and Vincent Simone, left fans intrigued when they announced their unlikely partnership last year, but after the roaring success of their first tour together in 2019 – the 5 star rated ‘The Ballroom Boys’ – they are back with Act Two!

Act Two will follow on from Waite and Simone’s first offering as a dancing duo, with more old-fashioned variety – dance, comedy and song!

Ian says of the new show “Myself and Vince joined up for the 2019 tour because we wanted to do something completely different to all the other Strictly tours. We never imagined that it would be so popular, the audiences loved it, which is amazing! So we thought, why not do it again?”

Having both been part of the hit BBC show for a number of years, with their partners including Zoe Ball, Penny Lancaster, Rachel Stevens, and Louisa Lytton, they are still very much involved – Ian is a regular on ‘It Takes Two’ with his ‘Waite’s Warm-Up’ section and Vincent choreographs the Argentine Tango routines that are seen on the main show.

The fabulous ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ stars promise another wonderful evening, with beautiful costumes, gorgeous lighting and world-class routines. If you enjoyed The Ballroom Boys, then make sure you don’t miss the hilarious dancing duo when they bring you … Act Two!

‘IAN WAITE & VINCENT SIMONE – ACT II” comes to Felixstowe Spa Pavilion on FRI 23 APRIL, 2021 – AT 8PM | Tickets are available online here.
