Bish Bash 2019

The Bishop Stortford Music festival, better known as Bish Bash, takes place over the weekend of 4th and 5th May on Sworder’s Field in Bishop Stortford.

Republica have been announced as the headline for the Saturday night at the award winning festival, which takes place over the early spring bank holiday weekend.

Fronted by the charismatic, Saffron, the 90s indie technopop band are best known for their hits Drop Dead Gorgeous and Ready To Go.   Despite only reaching number 43 on its original release Ready To Go returned to the charts the following year at number 13 and has become an anthem for many sports teams and advertising campaigns around the globe.

The Sunday headline act is Black Grape, fronted by former Happy Mondays singer and I’m A Celebrity… runner up, Shaun Ryder, the band had a string of hits in the 90s.  Following a lengthy hiatus they released the critically acclaimed album, Pop Voodoo, which last year saw them return to the top 20.

Other notable acts over the weekend include:  local lunatic rockers, Papa Shango, with their theatrical brand of fun & chaos.    Sunday’s bill also features party rap duo Too Many T’s and Jim-Bob from Carter USM, fresh from a sell-out show at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire.    Also confirmed over the weekend include The Kubricks, A Band Called Malice (The Definitive Tribute to The Jam), Koasis (Oasis Tribute), Stortford Sound System (Local DJ’s) and O’Connell & Love, side project from Alabama 3’s Larry Love.
