China Crisis in Bury St Edmunds

Formed in 1979 in Kirkby on Merseyside, synth-pop band China Crisis were part of a new wave of Liverpool acts which included OMD, The Teardrop Explodes and A Flock of Seagulls.

China Crisis soon turned to a more commercial sound and had success in the 1980s with ten Top 50 singles (four of which reached the Top 20) and three Top 40 albums. The band are known for their string of hit singles, including ‘King in a Catholic Style (Wake Up)’, ‘African & White’, ‘Working with Fire and Steel’, and ‘Wishful Thinking’.

Founder members vocalist/keyboardist Garry Daly and guitarist Eddie Lundon continue to be the core of the band and are, this year, celebrating their fortieth anniversary. This special evening promises all the hits, performed with a full band.
