Two squabbling sisters became retail rivals in Norwich city centre this weekend on the look-out for bargain in the pre-Christmas shopping scramble as the festive season approaches.
Amanda Henderson and Alix Dunmore, aka Norwich Theatre Royal panto Ugly Sisters Alexa and Siri, took a break from rehearsals to explore the city’s Castle Quarter and get some ideas for festive gifts.
Leaving their sister Cinderella behind at Hardup Hall, the pair explored some post-panto holiday options in the Norwich Airport Shop where staff were tempted to sell Siri and Alexa a one-way ticket.
After that, they explored the menu at The Tea Junction while considering all their retail options.
It was then on to Supercuts where the hairdressing team were encouraged to make the sassy sisters look even more beautiful.
Their final stop was the Retro Replay vintage arcade where they swapped their servant Buttons for buttons of a different kind on the various games machines.
We are happy to welcome all shoppers to shop, dine, watch and play with us, and Siri and Alexa are no exception. They caused quite a stir in some of our shops but I think they found everything they were looking for, apart from the man of their dreams.Gemma Hyde, of Castle Quarter
The pair will be seen on stage at Norwich Theatre Royal in Cinderella from December 17 to January 19 as part of a star cast which also features David Witts (Joey Branning in EastEnders and Fiyero in Wicked), Joe Tracini (BAFTA Award-winning CBBC show The Dengineers and Hollyoaks) and Norwich Theatre Royal panto favourite Richard Gauntlett.
