The first One Night Stand performance is from Sally Marie’s Sweetshop Revolution. I loved you and I loved you tells the extraordinary story of young Welsh composer Morfydd Owen, who died almost 100 years ago in mysterious circumstances at the age of just 26. This rapturous new production, half-way between dance and a play, charts her rise from humble beginnings to great success in music and her tumultuous relationships with both the man she married and the man she loved.

DanceEast Associate Artist Alexander Whitley returns to the Jerwood DanceHouse once more this February, bringing the preview of Pattern Recognition. In this visually arresting new work, Whitley joins forces with digital artist Memo Akten to explore themes of learning, memory and the technology of artificial intelligence.

Brendan Keaney’s personal highlight of the season is the third One Night Stand performance from local Ipswich girl Flora Wellesley-Wesley’s new company Nora. Nora is the coming together of dancers Eleanor Sikorski and Flora, their love of choreography and desire to dance together has given them the impetus to invite several distinguished dance makers to create work especially for them; Liz Aggiss, Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion and Simon Tanguy. The piece has really got London dance audiences excited so if you fancy something different, and it is different, do give it a try!

Igor and Moreno round off the fantastic One Night Stand programme with A Room For All Our Tomorrows. Following a thrilling performance at the Jerwood DanceHouse during PULSE festival in June 2015, DanceEast is very excited to welcome back this talented duo. The work is about the secret lives we all possess when we are close to others. It is about those moments – between coffee and dancing – when harmony abandons us and all we have left is the desire to scream!

Ensure that you see some incredible dance in 2016 by securing your seat at the One Night Stand performances by booking now! And remember, the more you book the more you save!
