Norwich Theatre has announced that the tickets for Hamilton will go on general sale on Fri 12 Jul. The multi-award-winning Hamilton will play a six-week season at Norwich Theatre Royal from 16 Sep to 25 Oct 25. This equates to forty-seven performances, with 55,977 seats available in total, meaning everyone has the chance to be in the room where it happens!

Last year, Norwich Theatre announced Hamilton was going to stop at its Royal venue, which caused much excitement and anticipation from its audiences. In response to this excitement, Norwich Theatre is bringing forward its on sale dates four months earlier, so the wait to grab the best seats is almost over.

Signing up for Norwich Theatre’s Ambassador or Friends schemes allows you to be the first in line to secure your tickets, and there is still time. Norwich Theatre  Ambassadors and Gold Friends enjoy priority access to Hamilton three weeks ahead (going on sale Mon 24 Jun) of the general public; Friend’s priority access is a week later (Mon 1 Jul).

As well as priority booking, Friends can enjoy no transaction fees and a 10% discount in bars at Norwich Theatre Royal and Playhouse, as well as the café and restaurant. With three levels – Friend, Best Friend and Gold Friend – and starting at only £25 a year, there is a membership to suit everyone.

For those who want to deepen their connection to Norwich Theatre, becoming an Ambassador is an easy and effective way to support the charity, from £300 a year or £25 a month. All Ambassadors receive all the perks of being a Gold Friend as well as special events, exclusive benefits and behind-the-scenes access.

Friends and Supporters Manager Hannah Crouch, encourages people to become an Ambassador or Friend: “With so many exciting things coming up at Norwich Theatre, now is the time to become a member and make sure you are front in line for information and access to upcoming shows. Not only do our Ambassadors and Friends receive fabulous benefits as part of their membership, but they are also vital to the ongoing success of Norwich Theatre. As a registered charity, we receive no regular public funding and rely on the support of its members to continue to grow the wide-reaching positive impact we have both on stage and in our communities.”

Norwich Theatre has introduced Pay in 3, a new scheme enabling audiences to spread the cost of their theatre tickets over three consecutive months.

The scheme applies to all shows at all Norwich Theatre venues, including the recently announced Player Kings starring Ian McKellen, musicals like Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, and comedy headliners such as Nish Kumar and Jenny Eclair. It can also be used on Take Part activities, such as the New Voices Choir and Creative Café.

The scheme follows the success of Panto Payments, which was trialled last year to enable audiences to spread the cost of their pantomime tickets. Working with a Pay in 3 provider, customers can pay for tickets in three instalments, with no interest added.

The full on-sale dates for Hamilton are:

  • 24 Jun – Ambassadors, Gold Friends and Corporate Members
  • 1 Jul – Best Friends and Friends
  • 8 Jul – Priority bookers from panto
  • 12 Jul – General public

Hamilton is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, it has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre, a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the lyrics, music, and book of the musical, which is based on the book “Alexander Hamilton” by Ron Chernow, published in 2004.

The Olivier, Tony, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical opened at Victoria Palace Theatre in London in December 2017, where it continues to play to sell-out houses and is currently booked until 2 Mar 2024.

Hamilton is produced in the UK by Cameron Mackintosh, Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs, Jill Furman and The Public Theater.
