Family Fun at Chelmsford Theatres

The theatre is an ideal family day out over the Easter holidays, and Chelmsford City Theatres has several productions that will appeal to families.

Starting the fun off will be the stage adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s family classic ‘The Wind in The Willows‘, which features catchy songs, humour and an energetic cast. Join Mole, Ratty and Badger as they do their best to keep the mischievous Mr Toad out of trouble. Will the riverside friends be able to stop the Wicked Weasel from taking over Toad Hall? Find out on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 March, when this exciting and playful take on the tale comes alive on the Civic Theatre’s stage at 2pm and 6pm each day. The show is part of the Essex Book Festival.

Children who love dinosaurs will want to see ‘Dinosaur World Live‘, where they will able to experience the thrill of interacting with all of their favourite dinosaurs. The show features Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops and many others, all brought to life by very, very big puppets, in the same magic way that ‘Warhorse’ was brought to life on the London stage. Children will be able to pet a beastie in this fantastic Jurassic adventure, so grab a compass and join the explorers as they discover a pre-historic world of mind blowing dinosaurs. The show runs at the Civic Theatre from Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 April, with shows at 2pm & 4.30pm on Thursday and 11am & 2pm on Friday and Saturday.
