Buddy Holly & The Cricketers

Oh Boy! Buddy is back on stage as the music of one of the all-time great rockers Buddy Holly is set to entertain audiences at Norwich Theatre Royal on April 24.

The stage show of Buddy Holly and The Cricketers has enthralled fans across the globe with its concert-style presentation of all his greatest hits from That’ll Be The Day, Peggy Sue and Heartbeat, to It Doesn’t Matter Anymore, Raining In My Heart and Oh Boy!.

Back by popular demand after gracing the Norwich stage in May last year, the show has been described by Graham Norton as “Buddy brilliant” and is guaranteed to have everyone singing along to the music and dancing in the aisles.

Starring UK actor-musicians whose combined West End credits include Buddy, Lennon, Forbidden Planet and Jailhouse Rock, it was endorsed as Britain’s most popular Buddy Holly act when the boys guested on BBC One’s Saturday Night Live programme The One and Only, hosted by Graham Norton.

Coming from a background of country and western music, Buddy was an early star of American rock music and took a keen interest in recording studio production techniques and is credited with being the first to use overdubbing and double-tracking.

Had he not died in a fatal plane crash in 1959 when he was just 22 (a crash which also claimed the lives of fellow rockers Ritchie Valens and J.P. ‘The Big Bopper’ Richardson), then the singer and guitarist would have turned 80 on September 7, last year.
