Everyone You Know

October 27 @ 7:00 pm

One-to-watch duo Everyone You Know release their powerful and passionate ‘Look After Your Pennies’ project today, ahead of their first major festival appearance on the R1 Dance Stage at Reading and Leeds festival next weekend

An exemplary 2nd EP, the project reads like a rite of passage for young men in suburbia; exploring themes of frustration, friendship, family, challenges, coupled with happiness, hope, determination and dreams and lots more. A heady dose of the world articulated from the EYK narrative; the highs, the lows, high octane and high energy.

Their signature sound of a rich tapestry of punk and rave, guitar riffs and hip-hop, matched with heavy-hitting beats and hard-hitting, observational lyricism has earnt them plaudits from NME, Sunday Times Culture, Clash, Line Of Best Fit, Notion, Wonderland, Soccer Bible, Complex with radio headlines including BBC Radio; Jack Saunders Tune of the Week, BBC Introducing, 6MUSIC playlist and an explosive headline slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at The Great Escape.

Speaking on the project, EYK speak:

This EP ‘Look After Your Pennies’ is a slight insight into how life has been for us since ‘Cheer Up Charlie’, musically the sound has developed and matured which is quite noticeable and lyrically the same. There are moments that are harder and more aggressive than ‘Sinners’ yet softer and more emotional than ‘Our Generation’, we felt it was so important on this EP to show both ends of the spectrum and show people that we are not just focusing on one particular sound. The 4 tracks take influence from house, to hip hop, indie to grime and everything in between.

Fast forward to now – and after an explosive live plot across the summer which has taken them to Standon Calling, Leopallooza, Neverworld, supporting the legendary Fatboy Slim at Into The Wyldes – get ready for EYK to take Reading + Leeds by storm as they step onto the R1 Dance Stage for a show-stopping performance.
