FEET Head To Norwich Waterfront

FEET have today shared new single Outer Rim, taken from their debut album What’s Inside Is More Than Just Ham which is due for release on 4th October through the band’s very own Clapped Records.

Outer Rim is a blistering indie-punk number, featuring not only one of the best uses of “oi!” in a pop song ever, but an incessant nee-nawing hook that The Buzzcocks would have been proud of. The single is accompanied by a video – written & directed by frontman George – which sees the band ditch their cowboy hats from Ad Blue, this time taking up the roles of detectives in hot pursuit of aliens, disguised as stiff-necked policemen! Check it out here.

On the origins of Outer Rim, Feet commented: “The song started out under the alias Prang Meets Pong Meets Peng Meets Ping, since those were the only viable adjectives at the time with which we could describe it. We soon came around to rationality and scrapped the whole bastard thing. Using the remaining debris, the song was soon reinvigorated into a punky-boi, with lyrical inspiration coming from seeing a shooting star whilst at our summer retreat”.

The single then morphed into a new alias ‘Mel Gibson’and was taken to the band’s album sessions “where a fresh-faced Ben Firth ‘mozammed’ all over it, adding an extra minute to the workload” explain the band. “We were then put in touch with Mel Gibson’s lawyers, who, enraged with the title, threatened to release the unseen third instalment of Passion of the Christ. With the sanity of humanity at stake, we scrapped the name and decided a lyric from the song was much more, you know, not Mel Gibson. Thank us later”.

Outer Rim sees the band in ferocious form with recent singles – English Weather & Ad Blue – receiving support from Radio 1’s Jack Saunders & Huw Stephens, 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and playlisting on Radio X. Similarly, FEET have earned plaudits from The Independent, Sunday Times, The Line Of Best Fit, NME, DIY, Dork, Gigwise & Les Inrockuptibles, all in anticipation of their debut album which will be released this autumn.

FEET havespent much of their time this year on the road, playing a number of sold-out dates across the UK, earning a reputation for their hugely entertaining live performances. Following tours with Declan McKenna & Honeyblood the band continue their festival season with upcoming slots at Truck, Y Not, Boardmasters & recently announced Reading & Leeds Festival on the BBC Introducing Stage.

The band won’t rest there and will put their best erm.. feet  forward for an 18-date headline tour in October/ November, in further support of their hotly anticipated debut album What’s Inside Is More Than Just Ham.
