Global Rhythm & Ipswich Jazz Festival

A free music festival with Global Rhythm across five stages featuring blues, jazz, world and Caribbean music in Christchurch Park, Ipswich on Saturday 2 July 2022 from 1pm through to 7pm.
The Ipswich Jazz Festival stage will feature saxophonist Tony Kofi leading the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year Xhosa Cole and his Trio, Andrea Vicari’s Jazz Ambassadors with acclaimed young saxophonist Emma Rawicz, Trumpeter Laura Jurd’s band Dinosaur, hot on the heels of their successful album and tour Mark Lockheart’s Dreamers and the festival’s popular cabaret style format with highly rated local professional band The Chris Ingham Trio with singer Jacqui Hicks and reeds player Mark Crooks.
Some of the bands appearing on other stages are will be Ma Bessie And Her Blues Troupe, blues harmonica maestro Paul Lamb, international soca singer DeeVine, Ipswich born RnB star Chantz Marie, multi-genre band Roots 8 and the Drywood Cajun Band as well as local bands.
At this banquet of musical delights there will also be music and dance workshops, a fun-fair and a range of food and craft stalls.
The festival forms part of Ipswich Music Weekend with satellite events in the evening of Saturday 2 July and Ipswich Music Day the following day, Sunday 3 July. It’s a spectacular weekend to celebrate summer.
