Merrill Osmond in Bury St Edmunds

Back in the UK on his ‘Greatest Hits and More!’ tour this autumn, Merrill Osmond and his live band will be performing all the big hits from The Osmond’s back catalogue. Merrill will also be talking about his experiences of growing up within one of the world’s biggest bands, the famous people he has met and the stories behind many of their hit songs.

Merrill Osmond was the middle child of nine children: the world-famous Osmond Family.  The Osmonds were one of the most successful music groups of all time, peaking in the 1970s. No other recording artists have earned as many gold records in one year as the Osmond family.

He was either lead singer or co-lead singer (usually sharing duties with younger brother Donny) on almost all of The Osmonds’ songs and also co-wrote many of them with older brother Alan.

Merrill has sung lead on twenty-seven gold records with his brothers, and (with Alan and Wayne) he has produced and written the music and lyrics for five number one hit songs.

It’s Merrill’s incredible voice you can hear on such hits as ‘One Bad Apple’, ‘Let Me In’, ‘Love Me For A Reason’ and ‘Crazy Horses’.

Merrill is also an established solo artist, and his entertainment career has spanned over 40 years. When Donny began to focus on his own career in the late 1970s, Merrill grew out his beard and, along with his brothers, shifted to country music, recording a number of hits on the country charts in the 1980s. He has toured throughout the world performing in many major venues

Merrill Osmond will sing all The Osmonds’ hits and tell his ‘behind the scenes’ stories at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds – click for listings.
