‘Poontang’ was formed in 2005 after the success of an evening blues jam at a local pub in Haverhill, Suffolk, appropriately called, The Rising Sun.
Since then, the band has enjoyed numerous successes such as appearing on local radio and having one of their songs banned from the airwaves due to its perceived sexual content, having local law enforcement turning up because of complaints made by local residents in respect to the band’s name.
Poontang also sharing the main stage with the likes of Bad Manners, and The Ruts at The Fordham Music Festival August 2007 and then again in 2008, opening for the legendary Terry Reid in Norwich, in July 2007.
