The Joe Ringer Band

The curtain goes up this summer on an exciting celebration of some of the world’s best-known musicals, and a host of top East Anglian talent will join The Joe Ringer Band for the show on Sunday 30 July at 7.30pm.

Joe said audiences will be in for a real treat,

“We have got so much in store. We will be paying tribute to the biggest and best musicals from the Fifties to today. There will be a 15-piece band with full rhythm and horn sections as well as six amazing vocalists. Many of these performers have toured and worked in the West End. There will be great songs with some lovely arrangements. We want people to be singing and dancing by the end of the night.”

Joining Joe for the show will be a 15-piece live band with a full horn and rhythm section plus six vocalists. They include West End and touring performer Holly Graham who now lives in Norwich and is no stranger to the Theatre Royal stage having appeared in the 2004-2005 pantomime Sleeping Beauty opposite Bad Girls star Nicole Faraday plus fellow actor and former Flying Picket, the late Brian Hibbard. Also in the show is fellow UK-wide singer and performer Aaron Bolton who has been starring in Frankie’s Guys, the stage tribute to the music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

The show will begin by heading right back to the first golden era of musicals with some Rodgers and Hammerstein numbers, extracts from the hit show Top Hat, and some of the songs associated with the era of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.

From there the show moves on to pay tribute to most iconic musicals like Les Misérables before coming bang up to date with numbers from some of the newer productions being loved by theatre-goers like Beautiful, Wicked, and Jersey Boys.

It is the second time Joe has brought his band to the theatre and is hoping to encourage even more people to come along and see him in his latest spectacular. “Our first show was a lot of work but there was nothing to beat going out on stage in front of 900 people. It was an amazing feeling and we got a standing ovation at the end. I can’t wait to do it all again,” he said.
