The Wild Oats EP

Great to see this popular ‘60s band from Leiston in Suffolk getting some national recognition albeit 50 year after they were together! This vinyl re-release of their Oak EP has been expanded to deluxe 10-inch format with five additional tracks from the original sessions from April and August 1964 and early 1965. The recordings were produced by David Nicholson and there were only 100 copies of the EP pressed. As with many beat groups from  that era The Wild Oats had a loyal following but didn’t trouble the charts. It’s meant that original copies of the EP have been changing hands for between £500 and £1,000! Ace Records made it more widely available on their Big Beat imprint.
