The four Minnesotan boys making infectious, joyful, and thematically soaked with the sense of cynicism accompanying the youthful search of self-meaning. The band, who are yet to even reach the legal drinking age, met in high school and following an explosive SXSW, the tetrad of teenagers to AIM Independent Label Of The Year Transgressive Records. At the Austin music festival, the band were noticed by the producers of big time American talk show, Conan. The boys were booked to perform their single ‘Suicide Saturday’ promptly on the popular show. The turn of the year saw the band go from strength to strength and they were selling out shows in their hometown and touring both sides of the pond with the likes of; Walk The Moon, Real Estate, Modest Mouse and My Morning Jacket as well as performing at The Great Escape and Reading & Leeds festival.
Their ascent has seen them pick up support and acclaim for taste makers in the UK, USA and beyond. Previous efforts ‘Suicide Saturday’ and ‘South’ have seen the band named Huw Stephens ‘Single Of The Week’ and led to sessions for BBC Radio 1 and XFM, whilst The Guardian, NME, DIY and Q have all marked Hippo Campus out as an act to seriously keep an eye on. The group recently performed a set for major US daytime show, CBS This Morning.They are scheduled to tour with the Little Comets later in the year.
