Tilly Moses | If I Could Gather All The Songbirds

Can it really be eight years since I first came across Tilly at The John Peel Centre? In those years I have merely grown older. Tilly however has transformed from girl to woman, her music too has matured.

This is just Tilly’s second studio album and by her own admission it reflects the fact that she has grown up. The flagship single Rot & Ruin depicting the disability that haunts her is suitably haunting and very celtic, evoking memories of early Clannad.

Little Bird is such a beautiful song for a daughter to write for her Mum, but for me the stand out track is No-One’s Fool – something about the presentation of the lyrics makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Tilly now lives in Liverpool but her album launch took place back where we met, at the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket.
