Innovative Body Swap Drama Set for Spring Tour

What would happen if you suddenly found yourself living in the body of your friend?  The bizarre switch is explored in a new piece of theatre, which has already attracted rave reviews.

Now ‘My Other Half’ is back for an eight-venue tour around East Anglia this April.

The dark comedy thriller follows the lives of a troubled young couple who, out of the blue, swap bodies. With an important book signing due the following day, the pair must learn to become each other. But as the lines start to blur and identities get confused, the couple’s lives soon descend into chaos.

It is the brainchild of Christopher Sainton-Clark, who wrote it – and has created original music for the production where he is also director, technician, and marketing man.

Chris, who has a background in technical theatre and currently works at Sheringham Little Theatre, founded his own company Raising Cain Productions in the first lockdown, in order to stage the play.

The twenty-two year-old from Norwich even won funding for it through an Arts Council National Lottery Project Grant. It was produced for its first run at Sheringham Little Theatre and St George’s Theatre, Great Yarmouth, before quickly being snapped up by Holt Festival in July 2021.

Now from April 12-22 it is heading off to venues in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk, as Chris says he hopes to “make bold and vibrant theatre more accessible for our rural region.”

It was described as “a fascinating exploration” by film and theatre director, Marcus Romer, while another audience review called it “mesmerising.”
