Joe Brown

Joe Brown releases a double CD to mark what was, and is, a truly memorable tour. The first time Joe has trod the boards without a band and, unsurprisingly, it’s a huge success.

From the days of music hall and growing up in an East End pub through the skiffle era of Lonnie Donegan then jumping, almost overnight, into rock’n’roll, Joe’s seen it all. He’s hailed by his peers, loved by his audiences and had his achievements honoured with both Mojo Award and MBE.

Recently he’s been hailed as the champion of the ukulele, the instrument he played to such stunning effect at The Concert For George, and his ‘Ukulele Album’ continues to sell strongly world-wide.

But for years he’s thought about doing a one man show – and now he’s done it.

With more stories than you can cock a snoop at, along with his good friend, Sha Na Na founder Henry Gross (also the youngest musician to play at Woodstock), Joe finally took to the boards last year for a ‘Just Joe’ tour.

To say it was a howling success would be an understatement. Indeed, so much so, that Joe’s taken to the road again this year for another 70 dates taking him right through to March 2018.

And, as a bonus, there’s a new CD to mark the occasion. Some of the dates last year were recorded for posterity – all the stories, the great music, the jokes, warts and all. A wonderful double album produced by Henry Gross and featuring all the highlights from these memorable, intimate, great night outs, it shows Joe doing what he does best.

‘Just Joe’ indeed – what more could you ask for!
