West End star Emma Dears once again takes on the role of Liza Minelli, with Helen Sheals as Judy Garland.

Emma began her acting career at the age of nine when she toured the UK in the title role of Annie, she was the youngest to have played the role professionally. Later she went on to enjoy a long spell in London’s West End playing Ellen in Miss Saigon and Rizzo in Grease. Emma is also the creator of this show.

Helen is well known for her roles as Mrs Wigan in Downton Abbey and Lily Richardson in Coronation Street and has already appeared as Judy Garland in Through the Mill and Judy, Judy, Judy.

Emma can’t wait to get the show on the road: “It’s hugely entertaining and the songs such as Maybe This Time, Cabaret and of course Over The Rainbow genuinely speak for themselves. I would think that 90% of the songs audiences will recognise straight away, but there are few a that some might not be quite so familiar with. I like to think we’ve created a real empathy in the narrative, too, with a lot of passion on show. People will be laughing and crying at times, so it’s a really moving play on all levels; a true roller-coaster.”

Following a successful UK tour this is a chance to hear the sensational stories of the lives of two of the world’s most legendary stars of stage and screen and to enjoy some of the most beautiful and popular songs of the last eighty years. Come and hear the music play as the curtain rises once more on the mother and daughter who really did put the ‘show’ into showbiz.
