Learn to Lindy Hop

Learn to Lindy Hop, as part of Ipswich Jazz Festival and DanceEast’s Move | Be Moved Season, at the Jerwood DanceHouse on Friday 23rd June. In this two-hour workshop, learn social, partner and solo dance skills with one of the most experienced Jazz and Lindy Hop dancers in the UK.

Led by Grounded Movement’s Temujin Gill, this friendly dance workshop brings the original Swing dance from 1930s Harlem bang up to date for 2017. With lots of fun and frolics on the cards, the Lindy Hop workshop is suitable for those with some dance experience, but no partner is required.

Temujin Gill is one of the UK’s most experienced exponents of Lindy Hop and African American Jazz dances. As an ex-Jiving Lindy Hopper, Temujin is also Co-Artistic Director of Grounded Movement, the collective of diverse artists grounded in the rich culture of dances borne from the street.

Temujin choreographed and directed the NHS section of London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, having trained and performed with some of the world’s best Lindy Hop performers. His love for sharing his knowledge with others is epitomised by this exciting Lindy Hop workshop.
