Lisa Redford: Virtual Music Lessons Available.

Lisa Redford is a vocal coach and instrument tutor based in Norwich who offers singing, guitar and ukulele lessons to all ages. She also provides song writing classes and helps students develop their song ideas.

Tutoring since 2012, Lisa has had a lot of experience in the industry, working as a music tutor for a few years for various music organisations in Manchester and New York City.

Now the Norwich born musician is back in town, sharing her passion and love for music with anyone that wants to learn:

“I really love teaching and sharing my passion for music and felt it was the right time to teach from home here in Norwich. It’s is a great city full of creativity and I’ve built a lovely base of regular students here. I love how rewarding it feels seeing students progress and grow in confidence with their singing and playing. I really enjoy providing encouragement and guidance and being really supportive.”

Lisa is providing online lessons, due to the current lockdown, through Skype, Zoom, FaceTime or Microsoft Teams. Although, she admits, its been hard not seeing her students in person she has found technology has become a new essential in her career and is still “learning to get to grips with it all!”

Lisa, alongside teaching, also works as a successful musician, recently sharing her charity single ‘This Fine City’, an uplifting anthem about how we’re all getting through this challenging time while looking forward to the days when we can fully enjoy them again, in order to raise funds to find Future Radio in Norwich a new home.

Despite all the challenges that teaching remotely presents, she has found that her passion for tutoring is still very much present:

“I like to bring a warm and personal approach to my teaching and have an ability to engage and build a real bond with my students. I always ensure lessons are really fun and enjoyable while tailoring them especially for each student; teaching songs they like and providing relevant exercises and tracks to practice to.”

So if you find yourself with a bit of extra time wanting to learn a new hobby, why not try out one of Lisa’s classes? She particularly likes to help those beginning to sing and play the guitar or ukulele, as well as those aiming to follow a singer- songwriter path like herself.

“As others have said, Lisa has a really patient and flexible approach to teaching. I’ve been able to continue learning without having to leave my sofa! I like Lisa’s bespoke take on content and she always makes sure to send any lesson material via email, ahead of time. She’s full of ideas and has a great ‘can do’ attitude. Lessons with Lisa are always really enjoyable!” says student Heidi Secker.

“My 10 year old daughter, Saskia, has been having guitar and singing lessons with Lisa. Within weeks of starting she went from not being able to play a thing to singing and playing many of her favourite songs. Since then she has gone from strength to strength. Lisa has been a real inspiration to Saskia. She knows how to connect with children. She’s vibrant and fun but at the same time nurturing and attentive. It’s a real pleasure to hear my daughter perform. Thanks Lisa,” says mum Kerry Williams.
