On Friday 11th September at The Corn Hall in Diss, Sonic Wave present a special double bill featuring award-winning Irish singer and flautist Ríoghnach Connolly, followed by Orchestra of Samples, the global music project by ethno-sampling mavericks Addictive TV.
RÍOGHNACH CONNOLLY: Signed to Peter Gabriel‘s Real World Records and recently named Folk Singer of the Year by both BBC Radio 2 and RTÉ Radio 1, Ríoghnach Connolly is a prolific Irish singer-songwriter and flautist from County Armagh who performs internationally with acclaimed acts including Afro Celt Sound System, Honeyfeet and The Breath. Rooted in the traditions of Irish folk and Sean-nós (traditional Irish vocal music), her performances also draw from blues and jazz, connecting ancestral song traditions with contemporary storytelling. www.rioghnachconnolly.com

Over two decades they’ve built a vast archive, filming hundreds of musicians improvising worldwide, from India to Senegal, Kazakhstan to Colombia, sampling them all to create new music of extraordinary fusions.
