Released in 1974, Sheet Music reached No 9 in the UK album charts and entered the Top 100 in the US. It remains a masterclass in the composition of popular music and typifies the eclecticism and remarkable invention that characterised the band’s earlier work, said to have influenced Freddie Mercury and Queen.

The second part of the concert features a comprehensive spread of the band’s eleven Top 10 hits and more, including their three No 1s – I’m Not In Love, Dreadlock Holiday and Rubber Bullets.

The current live band, which has been together for more than 10 years, features Gouldman on vocals, bass and guitar; Rick Fenn (lead guitar, vocals), Paul Burgess (drums, percussion), Mick Wilson (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Keith Hayman (keyboards, guitar, vocals). Rick and Paul have both worked with 10cc since the mid-‘70s line-up.

Recent high-profile concerts have included the O2, London with Status Quo, the Royal Albert Hall and British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park.

Purveyors of some of the greatest pop records of the 20th century, 10cc has sold more than 15 million albums in the UK and 30 million worldwide. Such is the enduring nature of their music that movie-makers can’t resist including the band in soundtracks, with I’m Not In Love featuring in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and 2014 blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy, while Dreadlock Holiday was used in The Social Network (2010), about the founding of Facebook

The band continues to work internationally with headline tours in Australia and New Zealand last autumn, a tour of Belgium and Holland in March, dates in Japan and summer shows in Denmark, Norway and Germany.

Meanwhile, Graham Gouldman has been receiving particular recognition in the US for his songwriting work with 10cc and the hits he wrote for artistes such as The Hollies (Bus Stop), The Yardbirds (For Your Love) and Herman’s Hermits (No Milk Today). He has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame – an arm of America’s National Academy of Music, and awarded Icon status by Broadcast Music Incorporated.
