90th Anniversary Proms at Ipswich Regent
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra returns to Ipswich this November to celebrate 90 years of the Regent Theatre.
This November, East Anglia’s largest theatre celebrates its 90th Anniversary in spectacular style with a very special concert from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on Friday 1st November, 7:30pm at the Ipswich Regent Theatre.
The Regent Theatre’s 90th Anniversary Proms features live music at its best – the unbeatable anthems of the Rolling Stones and the Beatles meets the get-up-and-dance pop rhythms of Stevie Wonder, alongside your favourite Proms classics.
Experience this fantastic celebration of classics throughout the ages, performed with all the power and force of a full-scale orchestra.
From the awe-inspiring sound of E.T.’s Flying Theme, to the pomp of Elgar and the rock rhythms of John, Paul, George and Ringo – you’ll find yourself on your feet in no time!
The Regent Theatre opened its doors on Monday 4th November 1929 as a cine-variety hall and has since played host to some of the world’s biggest artists, West End shows and comedians.
The venue now gears up for an exciting 90th year with a busy programme of shows, continuing to bring the very best live entertainment to Ipswich including this year’s annual family pantomime Cinderella; one of the theatre’s fastest selling pantos ever!
With more shows to be announced this October, the busy programme already includes West End musicals Annie and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, live music including OMD, Emeli Sande, Dido and Lighthouse Family, dance acts including the Siberian Ballet and Britain’s Got Talent Winners Diversity.
Also performing during the 90th year are comedians Jimmy Carr, Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett as well as internationally renowned illusionist Derren Brown, returning for 6 shows in 2020.
Tickets for the 90th Anniversary Proms start from only £9 – with £5 off top 2 price band tickets booked before the end of July. Under 26s and students can get any tickets in the top 2 price bands for only £10.
