Annual Scholars’ Concert

On Friday 3rd February 2017 the Royal Hospital School will once again be celebrating its young musical talent in the popular annual Scholars’ Concert.

The group of twenty-five Music Scholars at RHS includes a wide range of talent and ability, from Year 7 violinists to Year 13 brass players, and everything in between.  Several of the group have recently been offered places in the Duet Philharmonic Orchestra and the Suffolk Youth Orchestra, adding to those who have already secured places in the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain; a real testament to the quality of musicianship at the school in Holbrook.

The school’s new Head of Academic Music, Mr Edward Allen, said: “I’m only in my second term at the Royal Hospital School, but I continue to be amazed on a daily basis by the commitment and talent of our young musicians.  Add into the mix our world-class facilities and dedicated staff, and you have the perfect environment for music making in education.”
