BurySOUND 2017 Final

Heat Five of BurySOUND 2017 took place at The Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds last Friday – it was the last heat of this year’s competition, and featured phenomenal sets by Bury-based rock-opera five-piece FINAL TRANSMISSION, Harlow hard-rock foursome LUNA HIGHWAY and two young Cambridge indie bands, SALTFEN and UGLY, plus special guest headliners FORTUNATO.

UGLY were voted through by the judging panel, and will join Heat One winners TUNDRA, Heat Two winners GOLDBLUME, Heat Three winners MAVERICK, Heat Four winners STRETCH SOUL GANG and special guest headliners SUBURBAN MINDS (winners of BurySOUND 2016) for the Grand Final at Bury’s 800-capacity theatre The Apex on Friday 3rd March.

This year’s BurySOUND has been the strongest in the competition’s 19 year history; we had more applications that ever before, and added extra dates to accommodate the sheer number of bands wanting to play.  The quality of bands and the atmosphere at the gigs have been incredible throughout, and it’s been a wonderful testament to how amazing our region’s DIY contemporary music scene is right now.
