Fairport Convention Spring Tour Hitting Epic Studios, Norwich

Much to the delight of fans, and fresh off the success of a massive sell-out winter tour earlier in the year, Fairport Convention have announced a new 30-date Spring UK tour to commence this May.

The band’s dedicated fans came out in force earlier this year, with many concerts on the winter tour up and down the country selling out well before show night, with the guest support of Led Zeppelin icon Robert Plant and his new project ‘Saving Grace’ on a handful of dates being a particular highlight. Irish quartet ‘The 4 Of Us’ also provided a perfect opening act for the entire tour, and will return for Fairport’s dates throughout the Emerald Isle later this year.

Fans who missed out on the opportunity to see the legendary folk-rockers this past winter need not worry, as never ones to rest of their laurels, the band kicks off the new tour at Leamington Spa’s All Saints on May 7th, taking in shows across the UK and Ireland, with an exciting show to hit Norwich’s own Epic Studios on Sunday May 12th.

“Fairport Convention are as relevant now as they were since their conception in 1967.”

XS Noize magazine, 2019

“Brilliance undiminished by the years… absolutely stunning… the highlights come in such

abundance and in such rapid succession you hardly know where to start.”

Slap Magazine, 2018

The band’s annual Cropredy Festival celebration taking place this summer is fast approaching also, with big names such as Frank Turner, Gogol Bordello, Wilson & Wakeman, and Richard Thompson as well as familiar friends ‘The Four Of Us’ joining in on the shindig.

Fairport Convention has been making great music for over half a century. Credited with originating British folk-rock music, the band has been through many changes, yet the current members retain a passion for giving their fans the best performance possible. This year’s Spring Tour will feature a unique mix of long-established Fairport favourites and also new material from their 2017 studio album 50:50@50 that celebrated the band’s Golden anniversary.
