Froggie & Lindisfarne Double Bill

OEP Live! is pleased to present two brilliant shows to the Best Western Hotel (Suffolk Suite), Ipswich in March.

Starting proceedings is Raymond Froggatt & His Band, on Sunday 18th March, 1.15pm.

Froggie (as he is affectionately known) has spent 50 years treading the boards, writing and singing songs that have been covered by so many other major artists. Song writer for Sir Cliff Richards for ten years, the Dave Clark five covered one of Froggie’s compositions ‘In and out of the Red Balloon’ back in the day, and had a massive hit record.

There are not many artists that Froggie has not written for or recorded with, but to name a couple – the legendary Isaac Hayes and the now knighted Sir Elton John are on the list. He’s also been chosen by many visiting acts to accompany them on their UK European tours, so the list is endless.

Froggie also counts Ozzy Osbourne,Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, Robert Plant, Jeff Lynne as friends since childhood; they grew up just around the corner from each other in the Birmingham area, and were in and out of each other’s homes. A friendship which endures today.

Raymond writes and sings his own songs mesmerising his audience, making them laugh with one of his many stories or cry with emotion with a song that touches the heart like no other. Raymond has released another album of songs to coincide with this new tour having a back catalogue of many albums and singles.

Still today his songs are recorded by major artists; add to this that in in 1992, he became an author. Raymond released his autobiography telling stories of his earlier years in the music business.

Following that, Lindisfarne are also playing on Sunday 18th March, from 7.30pm.

Legendary 70s folk-rock pioneers Lindisfarne return to form with a classic six-piece line up of long-time members fronted by original founder-member Rod Clements on vocals, mandolin, fiddle and slide guitar.

With a repertoire of unforgettable songs like Meet Me On The Corner, Fog On The Tyne, Lady Eleanor and Run For Home, and a reputation for live performance second to none, Lindisfarne’s power to galvanise festival and concert audiences remains undimmed and is guaranteed to get the crowd on its feet and singing along.

These shows really are not to be missed!
