Room To Move

Let’s make ROOM TO MOVE! Let’s create space to celebrate intercultural musical fusion.

A special 3-day workshop of participatory musical journeying within an enriching, creative environment, lead by internationally recognised musicians, Sefo Kanuteh (Gambia) and Ling Peng (China) and
supported by British kora player Josh Doughty and music educator Hilary Cornell, this is a dynamic
experience for young people from 5-17 years to explore World Music and composition of West
African and Chinese music, using African Djembe drums, Balafon, Kora and Chinese instruments
ErHu, Pipa, and Zheng.

It’s a great introduction to young people to African and Chinese musical fusion accompanied by swirling ribbons and harp string melodies, drumming and strumming with optional dance and Chinese instruments to try.
