September is bursting with the sound of music for music lovers at Chelmsford’s Civic Theatre and Cramphorn Studio.

The Bluejays brings their ‘Rock & Roll Revolution‘ tour to the Civic Theatre on Thursday 13 September at 7.45pm. The Bluejays feature stars from hit West End musicals Buddy and Dreamboats and Petticoats; the band will take you through a journey through the fantastic Rock and Roll hits of the 1950s. The show is packed with over 40 classic hits including ‘That’ll Be The Day’, ‘Jailhouse Rock’, ‘Johnny B. Goode’ and many more by vintage artists such as Elvis, Little Richard, Eddie Cochran and Bill Haley. Not to be missed if you wanna rock and roll.

The ‘Johnny Cash Roadshow‘ pulls into Chelmsford on Saturday 15 September. The only tribute Johnny Cash show to be endorsed by the Cash family, the show features a full live band including a brass section, with narrations and visuals. Although known as a country star, Johnny Cash embraced rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk and gospel, and has a musical legacy that has influenced many diverse artists. The night will feature all of the ‘Man in Black’s’ best songs including ‘Ring of Fire’, ‘Boy Named Sue’ and ‘Hurt’. The show starts at 7.45pm.

King For A Day‘ is a celebration of Nat King Cole by the acclaimed jazz vocalist Atila. The special night will feature Nat’s classiest songs including ‘When I Fall In Love’, ‘Mona Lisa’ and ‘Nature Boy’, all performed by Atila and his band. As well as the songs the show will feature narration and projected images of Nat to fully tell his story. Catch the show on Wednesday 19 September at 7.45pm.

Returning to the Civic Theatre after last year’s fabulous show is ‘Fastlove‘, the tribute to George Michael, on Saturday 22 September. The unforgettable evening will treat you to ‘Careless Whisper’, ‘Faith’, ‘Outside’. ‘I’m Your Man’ and many more all performed live. The band will feature saxophonist Ed Barker who toured in George Michael’s band in 2012. The show comes direct from the West End and is on a UK tour, and is a must for George Michael fans.

The Lunchtime Concerts continue every Wednesday in the Cramphorn Studio at 1pm and offer a delightfully relaxing interlude to the day. The lunchtime concerts are free although a donation of £1 is suggested.
