Spring Lunchtime Concerts
Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds is thrilled to present another lineup of lunchtime concerts in the spring season, moving to Thursday afternoons instead of Mondays. With The Reduced History of Jazz, The Kingfisher String Trio and the return of The Vega Wind Trio, there’s something for music aficionados of all tastes.
The Reduced History of Jazz features Jeffery Wilson on Clarinet & Saxophone and John Human on Keyboard & Piano, together they will take you on a gentle trip through the music known as jazz. Ports of call include Ragtime, The Blues, New Orleans, Chicago, Swing, Bebop, Cool Jazz, Bossa Nova and Fusion, with anecdotes from these two well-loved jazz and classical performers along the way, Thu 7 Feb.
The Kingfisher String Trio features Beth Spendlove on Violin, Michael Dolan on Viola and Christopher Slatter on Cello. They will perform a programme of duos and trios which will include works by Schubert, Dohnanyi and Dancla, Thu 14 Mar.
The Vega Wind Trio features Duke Dobing on Flute, Charles Hine on Clarinet and David Miles on Bassoon. They will provide virtuoso variety including works by Haydn, Beethoven, Joplin and Villa Lobos, Thu 2 May.
The Lunchtime concerts all start at 1.10pm and include tea, coffee and cakes after the performances. The concerts are sponsored by Gross & Co.
