Bury St Edmunds’ award winning Music & Entertainment venue, The Apex now has even more live music and events now on sale for events in 2017. 

From The Jam have gained a reputation for the kind of incendiary ‘live’ performances that sealed the reputation of The Jam all those years ago. Those attending the show can expect to hear classic The Jam hits such as ‘Going Underground’, ‘Town Called Malice’ and ‘The Modern World’. Alongside this will be rare B sides that Bruce says will give “the most ardent fans what they want” – see them here on Thursday 19 January.

On Saturday 21 January, Elkie Brooks, who is quite simply one of the most successful and popular singers the UK has ever produced. Now in the 5th decade of her career, she is still proving to be one of the most powerful and versatile vocal talents of our generation. With numerous hit singles, million selling albums and awards, her annual tours are treat for fans old and new.

The legendary Chicago Blues Brothers are back on their brand new Jailbreak Tour! On Sunday 22 January, they’ll be celebrating over 30 years of the Blues Brothers phenomenon, this non stop revue is packed with over 2 hours of the very best Blues, Motown & Soul music from both of The Blues Brothers movies including hits ‘Everybody Needs Somebody’, ‘Soul Man’, ‘Respect’ and ‘Shake a Tail Feather’ plus plenty of laughs too!

European Union Chamber Orchestra visit us on Tuesday 7 February. One of the world’s leading pianists, Angela Hewitt makes her first visit to the Apex along with a welcome return from the European Union Chamber Orchestra. Regularly appearing in recital and with major orchestras throughout Europe, the Americas and Asia, Hewitt’s performances and recordings of Bach have drawn particular praise, marking her out as one of the composer’s foremost interpreters of our time.

Reuniting the cast of the Hit West End musical, ‘Let it Be’ and starring Emanuele Angeletti. Macca is a celebration of the life and music of a legend. Including all of McCartney’s solo hits and a spectacular recreation of the ‘Wings Over America’ 1976 Concert Tour. Using state of the art visual media projection throughout, this show is unrivalled within the theatre circuit today. See it on Thursday 16 February.

On Sunday 19 February, The Celtic Fiddle Festival visits us. Sold-out tours and standing ovations give testimony to the electricity and excitement generated by the group. These traditional masters showcase their regional repertoires and together conjure an experience of breathtaking performances. “Three of the finest folk violinists anywhere.” – The Washington Post. 

Academy of Ancient Music visit us on Thursday 23 February. JS Bach was largely a self-taught composer and throughout his life he learnt by transcribing the music of his contemporaries. This programme brings together works by several of those he learnt from and admired including Albinoni, Vivaldi and A Marcello. Bach’s Italian Concerto is described as the most perfect example of a concerto for a single instrument by a contemporary critic and pays clear homage to Vivaldi

Manfred Mann is now considered, one of the finest and most respected bands from that era. Their numerous pop hits were R&B based with an undercurrent of jazz – a unusual but winning combination. The Manfreds, with original ‘front man’ Paul Jones, will be performing many of their hits on Thursday 16 March, including ‘Do Wah Diddy Diddy’, one of the most popular and instantly recognisable songs of the ‘60s.

On Thursday 30 March, The Three Degrees head to The Apex, they are an American female vocal group, formed in 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group has remained a trio with 2 original members since Sheila Ferguson left many moons ago. They are known all around the world for songs like ‘When Will I See You Again’, ‘Dirty Ol’ Man’, ‘Take Good Care Of Yourself‘. They have been continuously touring for more than 40 years and still touring to this day.

Strictly’s favourite couple are back with a bang after their first successful UK Tour; Ian Waite & Natalie Lowe have developed a whole new show with newly choreographed routines of their favourite Ballroom and Latin dances. The dance showcase spectacular will give full on entertainment with a romantic feel and will transport you away to a place of wonderful moments, with lots of laughs and stories along the way. See them strut their stuff on Tuesday 30 May.
