Maverick Festival Cancelled

Maverick Festival at Easton Farm Park in Suffolk is the latest in a string of festivals to be forced to cancel its arrangements for 2020. However heartbreaking these decisions are for the organisers, however frustrating for ticket holders and however dissapointing to the artists due to play, given the uncertainty that prevails these cancellations do not suprise. To recklessly carry on would be madness, standing up and doing the right thing is to be applauded.

In a statement festival organiser Paul Spencer said:

It is with great sadness that we have decided to cancel this year‘s festival, the unlucky thirteenth. We can no longer guarantee the health and welfare of our community and under such circumstances have no choice but to abandon the event.

The good news is that all the fabulous artists that had been booked this year are safe and well, either quarantined or locked down in their respective countries. Most of them, including festival favourites like Terra Lightfoot and JD Wilkes, have already re-scheduled their tours for 2021 and will be at Maverick for next year‘s festival on July 2nd, 3rd and 4th 2021.

Meanwhile, the team at Maverick have a BIG favour to ask:

It would help them greatly if ticket-holders would retain their tickets for use at next years event.

As a thank you to those who are able to support them in this way, they will be offering access to the MAVERICK RANCH HOUSE, a brand new hospitality area on the festival site that will be open exclusively to 2020 ticket-holders for the whole weekend.

The Ranch House will feature a private bar, complimentary soft drinks and snacks, a chill-out area and some surprise performances.

Maverick understand that in these challenging times some of you may not wish to do that. In that case, online purchasers should contact Ticketweb for immediate refund and those who purchased by mail should return their tickets to Maverick Festival Productions, Easton, Woodbridge IP13 0EJ with their bank details.

Meanwhile, I and the entire Maverick team would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and loyalty over the last thirteen years. We have built something very special together.

Let‘s take consolation in our musical memories, the comfort of friends and the love of our families until we can emerge into the sunshine again.

Until then, stay safe and roll on 2021!
